Congratulations to Eric for his service within the Community Service Committee. NYULYP is proud to name him Member of the the Month for November 2013.

About Eric:
Eric is a 2005 graduate of Binghamton University, where he double majored in Africana Studies and Philosophy, Politics and Law.  While there, he partnered for several years with the Broome County Urban League to stage the Binghamton University Black Student Union’s weekly youth program.  He attained his J.D. from New York Law School in 2010 with concentrations in Civil Liberties, Economic Justice and Education Law.  Currently, Eric works for the New York City Council as Legislative and Budget Director for Andy King, representative of the 12th Council District of the Bronx.  Eric is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and serves as Co-chair of the Community Service Committee of the New York Urban League Young Professionals.

YP is a tool to reach and help people in meaningful ways.  I joined because my interests were aligned with the mission and principles of the organization and I wanted to impact New York City’s most vulnerable populations on a broader level.

About NYULYP
NYULYP is a unique entity of the NYUL designed to serve as an empowerment forum for individuals ages 21-40 that live and work throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The organization trains, develops and educates young professionals to take leadership roles within the National Urban League (NUL), the civil rights movement and society-at-large.

Membership Criteria:
Be between the ages of 21-40
Pay annual membership dues ($75)
