So, where do you stand on your resolutions? Hopefully, you are still on board to a better you but if you’ve lost your way or haven’t thought about it yet – there’s still time! Here are some great apps for Young Professionals in 2014:
It Pays To Be Fit … Literally
Perhaps the number one resolution is a commitment to improving one’s health. Though getting fit seems to be the newest trend, many are still struggling with staying the course. Pact is a new app that could be game-changing in health and fitness. To use the app, you can choose to make a “pact” to exercise, log your meals on MyFitnessPal.com or eat vegetables for a certain number of days. When you sign up for a pact, you select a certain amount ($5 or $10) that is deducted from your credit card or PayPal account for each day you miss. For example, if you made a pact to work out 3 times per week and you only work out 2 times in a given week, you would have a certain amount deducted from your bank account. If you hit your goal, then you get paid a reward ranging from 30 cents to $5 per week. That payout comes out of the pool of money from other Pact users who didn’t honor their pact.
Gone are the days of overdraft fees…sort of! Yes, banks are still enforcing that overdraft fee but with the “Check” app, you’ll never be surprised by a negative balance. This free app stays on top of your bills and money for you – managing bills and monitoring your bank accounts and credit cards all in one place. When bills are due or the funds are low, the app will send you a notification. You can even make immediate payments through the Check app and schedule automatic withdrawls.
“This is the time for small paychecks and big memories. This is the time for travel.” Jessy Tapper
There is a whole world out there…literally. Learning the value of work-life balance may be difficult for a young professional striving for success but it is very important. Travel Channel has introduced a free app for discovering great places to eat, drink and have fun in exciting cities around the world. With Travel Channel Cities, you can research cities and even create your personalized itinerary right from the app. Once you’ve planned your trip, no need to waste time e-mailing or printing; it will automatically sync across all of your iOS devices.
Enjoy these new apps and feel free to comment below with additional apps we should check out. I’m wishing you a healthy, prosperous and adventurous 2014!
