The New York Urban League Young Professionals held its quarterly New Member Orientation on September 24th at the NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan. New members networked with the membership body and learned more about the organization and its committees, signature events, and community service endeavors. Candee Green on the Communication Committee had the chance to catch up with some of the new members and learn more about what they’re looking forward to as the newest members of the movement!
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Shanelle graduated with a Bachelors in Communication Arts at Utica College. She enjoys running, lifting weights, and eating, and she learned about YP through a family member who had already joined. Shanelle is excited to work with young people and wants to help get YP members civically engaged. We’re excited to work with you, Shannelle!
Hailing from Haiti and currently living in Brooklyn, NY, Righetti earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and his Masters degree in Public Administration, both from Binghamton University. He enjoys writing and joined YP because he wants to be more involved with the civil rights movement and contribute to his community. Welcome, Righetti!
Originally from St. Catherine, Jamaica and currently living in the Bronx, Waidiah is a Human Resources Personnel Associate. She earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Buffalo and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Mercy College. Every Sunday, Waidiah travels or sets out on adventurous activities, such as zip lining, hiking, or shooting at the gun range. She found out about YP through social media and joined so she can volunteer in her community. We’re really excited to hear more about your adventures, Waidiah!
Born in Arlington, Texas, James lives in Harlem and works as a Financial Analyst. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Texas Tech University, loves basketball and reading, and he joined YP because he wanted to be part of an organization committed to giving back to the community.
