What is your favorite on campus memory?

My favorite memory was the night President Obama was elected for the first time in 2008. It was my freshman year and the first presidential election I ever voted in. It was a night that I will tell my future kids and grandkids about.

Why did you choose to attend an HBCU?

I chose an HBCU because I knew it would be the best fit for me. I wanted to go to an institution that I knew would invest in me.

What’s the most memorable quote you remember from your HBCU experience?

“Definitions belong to the definers, not the defined.” Toni Morrison
